Welcome to Medicine Cricket

Who Are We?


We are a cricket team of postgraduate researchers and staff from the Medical Sciences Division of the University of Oxford including NDM and RDM. We play in the annual departmental Twenty 20 tournament called the Jack Cox Memorial Trophy against other departments at the University Club sports ground. We also play some friendly evening T20 matches against Oxford University colleges and local villages. Our fixtures and results can be found here.

Results for 2017 Season


We won our group in the Jack Cox tournament (4 wins out of 4), and then went on to beat Stats/Medawar in the cup quarter-final. However, we lost to Rhodes House in the cup semi-final. Dept of Engineering went on to win the tournament beating Rhodes in the cup final.



Results for 2016 Season


We were runners up in the 2016 Jack Cox Cup tournament. We lost to Osler/Green/Templeton in the cup final.

We won 5 out of 7 Jack Cox games (won: Offices, Chemistry, Stats/Medawar, Biochemistry & Rhodes House, lost: Osler/Green/Templeton twice).


In friendlies, we tied with Bampton, beat Balliol MCR twice, beat Hertford-Magdalen MCR and lost close matches with Hertford-Magdalen MCR and Wolvecote CC.



Results for 2015 Season

We beat the Rhodes House team in the Jack Cox Cup final - chasing down 141 with 4 overs left and 7 wickets in hand.


To get to the final we beat OUCE/Geography, Bodleian, Engineering, IT Services, Pharmacology and Osler/Green/Templeton . In friendlies, we beat Rhodes House (back in April), Wolvecote CC and Balliol MCR (twice), tied with Bampton Village CC and lost to Hertford-Magdalen MCR and Wolvecote CC (in the rematch). Go Medics!
